In California, all high school students must pass a test to earn a high school diploma. The test is called the CAHSEE.

Students first take this test in grade ten. If they do not pass the test, or a single section, in grade ten, they have more chances to take the test,, or the one section yet passed. In grade eleven, they can take the test two times. In grade twelve, they have up to five times to take the test.

DEAR PARENTS OF 2015 GRADUATING SENIORS:

The Grad Night Committee has been hard at work fundraising in order to make June 12th a night our kids won't forget, but we need your help with two of our main sources of funding:

It's time to buy your child's bid to attend Grad Night! Send in a check for $75 made payable to Grad Night 2015, give it to Jeannette Lange in the SLV Counseling Office. Please don't delay paying for your child's ticket to Grad Night: we depend on ticket sales in order to pay deposits on entertainment for the event and we don't want to start cutting items from our budget due to lack of funds.

Mark your calendars now for Saturday, February 28 to attend "Indulgences: Wine, Chocolate & More" our fabulous day of wine tasting, fine chocolates, live music and a Silent Auction where you can bid on weekend get-aways, sporting event tickets, products to pamper yourself and other indulgences! This amazing event will take place at Felton Community Hall from 2:00-5:00 PM

Other ways you can help:

If you work at a company that may be interested in donating an item (teen-friendly for Grad Night or adult-friendly for the Silent Auction) or cash, please take the letter just under this article to your employer. . . or give it to a friend, family member or neighbor!

Attend one of our on-going Dinner Nights Out, where a local restaurant donates a percentage of the proceeds to Grad Night. Upcoming dates & locations:

Tuesday, January 27 at Boulder Creek Brewery

Monday, March 2 at Boulder Creek Pizza & Pub

Coming Soon: Red Pearl and Taqueria Vallarta

Thank You,

Grad Night 2015 Committee

Grad Night 2015

Promoting a "Safe & Sober" Graduation Celebration

The SLV "Grad Night Class of 2015" Committee is fundraising for this year's Grad Night. Nationwide, the Senior Prom and graduation nights have the highest fatality rates of any night for teenagers. This is why the parents and community in the San Lorenzo Valley have continued for nearly 30 years, put on a "Safe and Sober" Grad Night celebration for the graduating senior.

It isn't enough to just put on a Grad Night. We take pride in providing a thrilling, unique event which transforms the SLV campus into a world of carnival rides, casinos, and other entertainments. The success of this event has enabled us to maintain a 90% attendance rate, keeping graduates safe while having a great time.

Any business or person who donates to any of our events will have their name or business listed on a large sign that will be out up at every fundraising event and Grad Night itself, thanking them for supporting our youth. This will give you maximum exposure for your business.

How can you help?

Host a Dinner Out and contribute % of proceeds to Grad Night 2015

Donate an item of "Indulgences" the Wine and Chocolate Tasting Fundraiser and Silent Auction (gift certificate, gift item, gift basket, etc)

Donate food or drink, or other item for Grad Night on June 12, 2015

Send a Tax Deductible donation (non-profit tax ID #946002633)
