Hybrid Course Options Information

WHAT IS THE HYBRID COURSE OPTION?

At Coast Redwood High School, one option of home study may include enrolling in a course at Coast Redwood High School to supplement a student's course of study in certain areas.

ENGLISH HOME STUDY OPTION

CRHS homeschool and hybrid courses are choices PARENTS make to satisfy their student's high school English requirements.



Students who home school would work under the Home Study English course of study, and meet with     an English teacher and/or their Supervising Teacher    2x month to turn in work and pick -up current assignment(s).


**PARENT involvement is critical to the success of their student.


This is not a stand-alone "independent study course," but home school.





Parents must continue to oversee their student in the role of an education facilitator and Learning Coach, to ensure that all weekly assignments are being completed, and be available to the student for further home school instruction on assignments, with education in writing, research, technology, reading, critical thinking, editing, Cornell note taking, organization and time management skills.





ENGLISH ON-SITE COURSE OPTION


A parent, whose student wish to challenge themselves, and supplement their English home school requirements, may enroll in the CRHS English 9/10 or English 11/12 courses each held 1x week at CRHS.


Our hybrid classroom courses are structured and challenging and demand full attendance and discipline in finishing assignments on time.




English 9, 10, 11, 12 class, is intended to be more challenging than English 9/10 and English 11/12 independent studies course with more project-based work with higher standards.

This is not a stand-alone hybrid, all inclusive course, but a homeschool supplemental. Parents must continue to oversee their student in the role of a Learning Coach, to ensure that all weekly assignments are being completed, and be available to the student for further home school instruction on assignments, with extended continued education in writing, research, technology, reading, critical thinking, editing, Cornell note taking, organization and time management skills.













SOCIAL SCIENCES HOME STUDY OPTION


CRHS homeschool and hybrid courses are choices families make to satisfy their student's high school Geography, Global Issues, World History, US History, Government and Economics requirements.


Students who strictly homeschool would work under the Home Study Social Sciences/History course of study, and meet with a history teacher and/or their Supervising Teacher 2x month to turn in work and pick up current assignment(s).


**PARENT involvement is critical to the success of their student.


This is not a stand-alone "independent study course," but home school.




Parents must continue to oversee their student in the role of an education facilitator and Learning Coach, to ensure that all weekly assignments are being completed, and be available to the student for further home school instruction on assignments, with education in writing, research, technology, reading, critical thinking, editing, Cornell note taking, organization and time management skills.





HISTORY ON-SITE COURSE OPTION


A parent, whose student wish to challenge themselves, and supplement their Social Sciences/History home school requirements, may enroll in World History or U.S. History courses each held 1x week at CRHS.



Our hybrid classroom courses are structured and challenging and demand full attendance and discipline in finishing assignments on time.




World History and U.S.History courses are intended to be more challenging than home study history course(s) with more project-based class work with higher standards.

ALL SCIENCE HOME STUDY OPTION

CRHS homeschool and hybrid courses are choices families make to satisfy their student's high school Life Science, Physical Science and elective science requirements.

Students who strictly homeschool would work under the Home Study Science course of study, and meet with a science teacher and/or their Supervising Teacher 2x month to turn in work and pick up current assignment(s).

BIOLOGY ON-SITE COURSE OPTION

A parent, whose student wish to challenge themselves, and supplement their science home school requirements, may enroll in the CRHS Biology course each held 2x week at CRHS.




Our hybrid classroom courses are structured and challenging and demand full attendance and discipline in finishing assignments on time.



This Biology course is intended to be more challenging than home study history course(s) with more work and higher standards.

This is not a stand-alone hybrid, all inclusive course, but a homeschool supplemental. Parents must continue to oversee their student in the role of a Learning Coach, to ensure that all weekly assignments and lab projects are being completed, and be available to the student for further home school instruction on assignments, with extended continued education in writing, research, technology, reading, critical thinking, editing, Cornell note taking, organization and time management skills.
