CAMPUS SAFETY DRILLS


Every several months Coast Redwood High School students and Charter staff participates with SLVHS the following practice drills; Fire, Earthquake and Lockdowns.

It is mandatory that every student on campus participates in the district-wide emergency drills and procedures, whether the charter student is in a CRHS class, studying in the SLVHS library, or enrolled in a SLVHS class, or participating in high school activities, sports, theater, or clubs.

FIRE
Students will file out of rooms P3, P4 and P5, to the tennis courts or the baseball fields. Students are to take all of their belongings. 
If an evacuation occurs, students will wait with their teacher(s) until they are picked-up by a parent, relative or designated emergency contact person.

EARTHQUAKE

Students will be directed by their teacher(s) to move away from the windows and bookshelves and tuck themselves under desks until the shaking has stopped. If an evacuation occurs, students will wait with their teacher(s) until they are picked-up 
by a parent, relative or designated emergency contact person.



LOCK DOWNS

Shelter in Place - Medical or weather related emergencies and threats. Limits movement around the entire campus. 

Coast Redwood students will be confined to rooms P3, P4, P5 or, if studying in the high school library, or enrolled in a SLVHS class, participating in high school activities, sports, theater or clubs, will follow directions given by the onsite teacher/administration.

Charter students may not be allowed to leave until it is safe to do so. Charter students are to report back to rooms P3, P4, P5, once clearance has been ordered by the high school administration, charter administration,
 and/or the district office administration and community law enforcement/fire, in order to contact parent/relative. All cell phones will be turned-off.
   

LEVEL 1: SITUATION SHUTDOWN

This means a dangerous person or a significant crime has taken place in a neighboring community.The entire campus including Coast Redwood High School shuts down. 

Coast Redwood students will be confined to rooms P3, P4, P5 or, if studying in the high school library, or enrolled in a SLVHS class, participating in high school activities, sports, theater or clubs, will follow directions given by the onsite teacher/administration. Charter students may not be allowed to leave until it is safe to do so.

Charter students are to report back to rooms P3, P4, P5, once clearance has been ordered by the high school administration, charter administration,
 and/or the district office administration and community law enforcement/fire, in order to contact parent/relative.
All cell phones will be turned-off.



CODE RED - CAMPUS SHUTDOWN

 Immediate Danger - fatality, stabbing, shooting, or active shooting Coast Redwood High School students will barricade themselves in rooms P3, P-4 and P5. The entire campus including Coast Redwood High School shuts down. 

Coast Redwood students will be confined to rooms P3, P4, P5, or, if studying in the high school library, or enrolled in a SLVHS class, participating in high school activities, sports, theater or clubs, will follow directions given by the onsite teacher/administration. Charter students may not be allowed to leave until it is safe to do so.

Charter students are to report back to rooms P3, P4, and P5,  once clearance has been ordered by the high school administration, charter administration,
 and/or the district office administration and community law enforcement/fire, in order to contact a parent/relative.


PROCEDURES

Teachers to lock all doors & windows, close window coverings, turn off lights, barricade door, build interior barricade,  everyone on floor, behind barricade, stay quiet, stay away from windows, will NOT admit anyone to our room(s). All cell phones will be turned-off.

Additionally, emergencies may require a school to evacuate its students. If an evacuation occurs, you will be notified via the Emergency All-Call System as to the location of the reunification site.
