Digital Story Telling using your Art Medium (Studio Art)
Starting on Monday, February 2
Time: 10:00-11:55 / open studio drawing, sketching, digital arts continue after lunch until 2:00pm.

This general survey course is designed to meet the challenge of creating visual art in a compelling and interesting way. Through 2D, 3D and digital art experiences the curriculum will provide each artist with the ability to generate creative ideas as well as the skills to execute them. This open-ended course will focus on the development essential visual skills in classical art of drawing, painting, sketching as well as Zentangles and collage and mix it with modern digital story telling including photography. Relax time, tea time, creative time. Decompress and join us in developing your digital story telling experience. You will need to bring your own supplies and materials after taking inventory of deciding what medium you will explore. For instance, we have available a limited source of Zentangle materials, and a limited supply of watercolor paper.


SCHOLARSHIP OF THE WEEK 
49ers Bay Area All-Star Scholarship Program Due Date: February 3, 2015 Value: $3,000 GPA: 3.0 Criteria: Student must be a college-bound senior, currently attending a Bay Area high school. Must be a legal resident and display leadership qualities in and out of the classroom. You must demonstrate the value of education, good work ethic and community outreach. Mechanics Training Program 
This is for students who was interested in automobiles, racecars, or the motorsports industry in general. Our program serves to provide our students valuable hands-on experience repairing and maintaining our fleet of open-wheel racecars alongside our team of professional technicians, many of which have come to us from all forms and levels of professional motorsports. For young people looking for an entry level position in a professional racing organization, relevant experience is hard to come by. Our program can help with that and we have multitudes of graduates who have used our program as a gateway into a professional motorsports career. CABRILLO COLLEGE NEWS
Cabrillo College high school release forms. The older "high school release forms" will not be accepted by Cabrillo College for winter and spring sessions. Please request your NEW high school release from from your supervising teachers.

Registration for HS students is open from Jan 5th through Jan 23rd, and classes start January 26th!

Steps students need to take for Concurrent Enrollment:

·         Complete the online application

·         Complete online orientation, if needed*

·         Complete assessment, if needed*

·         Submit enrollment form to Admissions & Records on assigned registration day and time.

·         Tuition will be waived for .25 to 11 units, but students must pay the mandatory student fees, typically totaling approximately $30-$35.          

·         When enrolling in more than 11 units, tuition will be required for all units (no waivers apply).

·         Apply for Board of Governor’s Fee Waiver (BOGW) if taking over 11 units and pay mandatory student fees.

*None of the arts courses require assessment or online orientation, but completing Cabrillo’s online orientation, the assessment for math, English, or ESL, and beginning an education plan in Student Planning (WebAdvisor) -- and having these activities completed by the time registration dates and times are identified by Admissions and Records -- may provide a concurrently enrolled high school student with an earlier registration date.

Charter Booster Club CHARTER BOOSTERS

The purpose of the Booster Club is to support and enhance the educational programs at SLVUSD Charter School.  The money they raise goes directly to the needs of our classrooms, and school functions.  Booster Club parent volunteers work with our faculty and administrators to help enrich the educational experience of all students.


The objective of the Booster Club shall be to promote parent-school communication, working to build community, to facilitate a parent network, to provide enriching opportunities for the students, and programs, and fundraise to benefit the SLVUSD Charter both socially and financially.
